Abstract oil painting
John Wehmer (St. Louis, b.1927- ) is an American artist working out of the St. Louis area. Wehmer studied at University of Missouri in Columbia and Washington University in St. Louis. Separated from the avant-garde New York art scene that was thriving during the 1950s Wehmer developed his own style of painting, with strong influences of abstract expressionism.
This work is an oil painting on masonite from this period of time, the 1950s.
Framed in a custom hand made frame by fellow artist and friend Werner Drewes.
