Abstract expressionist painting
John Franklin Koenig (1924-2008) lived and worked in the Pacific Northwest and Paris, France. Koenig never deviated from his passions of abstract expressionism. He began exhibiting in 1952, and continued to exhibit his works throughout his life. In 1956 he was awarded the Prix Critiques Art de Presse Parisienne at the First Biennale in Paris. Koenig had over 150 one-man shows during his lifetime, showing his works in Paris, Venice, New York, Tokyo, and Seattle.
This work is an early abstract expressionist painting, dated 1953.
