Abstract expressionist painting
John Franklin Koenig (1924-2008) lived and worked in the Pacific Northwest and Paris, France. Koenig never deviated from his passions of abstract expressionism. He began exhibiting in 1952, and continued to exhibit his works throughout his life. In 1956 he was awarded the Prix Critiques Art de Presse Parisienne at the First Biennale in Paris. He had over 150 one-man shows during his lifetime, and showed works in Paris, Venice, New York, Tokyo, and Seattle.
This work from 1965, a mixed media collage on paperboard, is in excellent condition and ready to hang.
