Charmion Von Wiegand
Neoplasticist painting by female abstract painter Charmion Von Wiegand, (1896-1993).
Charmion Von Wiegand was close friends with Piet Mondrian and was greatly influenced by his works, having been present when Mondrian worked on both ‘Broadway Boogie Woogie’ and ‘Victory Boogie Woogie’.
Charmion is best known for her works in this same style, sometimes referred to as De Stijl or Neoplasticist.
This work, ”Classic Facade’ is a quintessential work by the artist.
Signed and dated 1960, and bearing a gallery label from Ollendorff Gallery verso, this piece is framed in a period frame, under current UV plexiglass.
In excellent condition.
